The ongoing legal battle between gospel sensation Mercy Chinwo and her former record label, EeZee Conceptz, takes a surprising turn as the label’s managing director, Nancy Nnadi—widely known as Coach Nancy—publicly withdraws her earlier accusations against the singer.
In a heartfelt statement posted on her Instagram over the weekend, Nancy retracted her prior claims accusing Mercy Chinwo of financial wrongdoing. This reversal follows increasing legal pressure and ongoing mediation led by senior figures within Nigeria’s gospel community.
Nancy stated, “On the advice of my lawyer, and for the sake of peace and the love of God, I retract my earlier post about Minister Mercy Chinwo. I also pray that Almighty God perfects the ongoing settlement process being facilitated by the Fathers of Faith between her and EeZee Conceptz.”
This development is linked to the $345,000 royalty lawsuit Mercy Chinwo filed in January 2025 against EeZee Conceptz founder Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu (EeZee Tee). The suit alleges the diversion of royalties and comes two years after the singer parted ways with the label over financial disputes.
During the legal fight, Coach Nancy had accused Chinwo of “financial manipulation” on social media, though the post was later removed. In response, Mercy Chinwo filed a defamation suit demanding an apology, retraction, and the removal of harmful content.
Trusted sources reveal that prominent clerics from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have stepped in to mediate, with Nancy’s latest statement signaling a potential reconciliation.
As the gospel music scene watches closely, many hope this high-profile conflict will soon reach an amicable resolution.
