Following the DOJ’s recent declaration that there is no official “Epstein client list”, a move that reignited public outrage and conspiracy theories online, Maxwell is said to believe Trump might intervene in her legal fate. A source close to her told TMZ that the new developments gave her a glimmer of hope that Trump could review her case and offer clemency.
However, White House insiders quickly dismissed the notion. A senior official in Trump’s circle reportedly stated there has been “no discussion, no consideration, and no chance” of granting Maxwell a pardon—now or in the future.
Maxwell was convicted in 2022 of aiding Epstein in the sexual abuse and trafficking of minors over a span of several years. She is currently incarcerated at a Florida facility and has continued to pursue appeals to overturn her conviction, most recently filing a petition to the U.S. Supreme Court in April 2025.
